men’s golf comp club tuross
A small field albeit a quality one of 33 players. Small because lacking of Howlong players and players representing Tuross at Tathra on Friday in the Vets. Nevertheless a fine score of 40 points from Col Houghton playing on a Hcp of 1 and congratulations go to him and all winners. There is a possibility of Tuross transferring to the new system of MiScore by mid March. Exciting times ahead.
A fine field of 52 starters with most of the players not back from Howlong. Congratulations to all winners and especially Tim Watson with 40 points and a great Eagle on the 1st. Mens golf are disappointed with the GoldenShot on the 6th because it is continually short of money each week. So,if those forgetting to put their $1 in could they please do so, you are only defrauding your fellow golfing mates. The jackpot is now up to $500 and there is $13 already in the next. Worth winning.
Update on the new OneGolf/MiScore golf management system is that on Wednesday 21st we will be having an online training session with the mens and ladies committees. We will keep you posted.
A fine day but turning to rain with 59 players battling the elements. A great score of 45 points for Ross Hendy winning by a healthy margin. Congratulations to all the winners. It was also good to see Tim Watson back on the course playing, not just working.
Just a reminder about driving carts and scooters on the course to keep them outside 5 metres from greens and not to drive on the fringes of greens or on the tees. This has only been brought up because a number of golfers have been noticed doing all of the above.
A great day for golf enjoyed by 60 starters with a fine 44 points scored by Troy Kingdom. Congratulations to him and all other winners. An announcement by Ian McManus congratulating a fairly new member Ethan Wong for rescuing a drowning man at Plantation Beach yesterday. An ambulance came to the scene to treat the swimmer and we thank them for their efforts also. So, when you see Ethan give him a big pat on the back.
Another excellent field of 72 golfers played in good conditions obviously suiting our winner Steve Johnston with a fine 47 points. Congratulations to him and all winners.
Just to keep you posted on the progress of our new Golf management system with Lars and Lawso on top of things with still a fair bit of work to do. Members will be advised of what to do when the time arrives. For those who don’t know the system is app based on your mobile device but also for us luddites we will also be having a card system similar to now. The system has internet capabilities which will allow you to enter and cancel times from your home computer. So watch this space for more info when it comes to hand.
Men’s Golf Committee
A smaller field than usual of 45 players, nonetheless a quality one enjoyed No preferred lies, No GUR Bunkers and No GUR Mulched Areas with the scores reflecting lesser numbers than we have been seeing. Congratulations to all the winners.
Just a little note , when placing your name on the timesheet if possible put it down with other golfers rather than waiting for them to put theirs with you. It may mean you can’t get your preferred time but that’s better than missing out.
Men’ Golf Committee
A good days golf for the 72 starters. No preferred lies and the scores appear to be getting back to normal. Congratulations to all winners and also to the 2023 SCOTY C/ship was Col Houghton- Winner and Terry Milliken – R/Up and the 2023 ECLECTIC Winner – Jim Wade (YFLB) and R/Up – John Eglitis.
I would like to congratulate you all on the very good roll up at presentations. It is pleasing to see because your committee puts a lot of time in to make things happen for your benefit and enjoyment.,
A call to arms to anyone with some spare time to help out on the course at your preferred time with whipper snipping around trees, tee boxes , gardens etc or just any small jobs, like raking out mulch on gardens, that need doing. Our Greenkeeper Tim is hopefully back at work on Monday albeit in a capacity of light duties, So any assistance is greatly appreciated.
A field of 52 played in drizzly but fairly pleasant conditions. The course was in great shape although bunkers and mulched areas are still suffering. Congratulations to all winners especially Allan Langford for his Hole in One on the 4th sponsored by the Tuross Motel, thank you Michael.
We are underway with the installation of our new golf management system, OneGolf/MiScore, and we are hopeful for it to be up and running by early February. For those who don’t know it will running with the MiScore App on your smartphone as well as a system similar to our current card procedures. So for those who are apprehensive about the app, there is no need to worry, you will still be able to use manual procedures. Also it comes with online booking via the internet so you will be able to book in and cancel from your home computer. We will keep you posted on any further information.
